Review: Mercedes-Benz EQC SUV 400 4Matic

The first all-electric car under the technology brand EQ (Electric Intelligence) was unveiled by Mercedes-Benz. The full name of the car is Mercedes-Benz EQC SUV 400 4Matic. EQC is a crossover SUV, offering all-wheel drive provided by a pair of electric motors. One sits at the front and a second at the rear. Mercedes suggests that each of the two motors serve different purposes. The front is said to be “optimized for best possible efficiency,” enabling greater range, while the motor at the rear “adds sportiness.” This system allows the EQC to provide 402 horsepower and 564 pound-feet of torque.

There are a number of EQ-specific enhancements, too, such as graphics to show energy flow, remaining range and charging status.

The EQC’s full suite of safety and assistance technology has yet to be revealed.
